THINGS I LIKE
There are so many things that I love in this world. Great books, a funny movies, hot tea, fuzzy socks, dark chocolate caramels, walks in the woods, girl’s nights, llamas, and memes. I’d love to share some of those things with you.
My taste in books is probably not as varied as it should be. Most of my literary diet is clean romance, because I like to read late at night when my brain doesn’t want to work too hard. However, I have pushed myself to make time for some classic literature and non-fiction works, especially books on social justice issues and religion.
Like my reading, my favorite movies are almost all romantic comedies. I love cheesy, low-budget movies. And yes, I watch Christmas movies all year long, and I play bingo with homemade bingo cards. (Download here?)
I’m the laziest chef ever. I’m skilled at re-commissioning leftovers into something new. If I can make it in one pot instead of three, I’m going to do that. Recipes are suggestions. Substitutions are mandatory. Here are some of my favorite “recipes.” Some of these I made up as I went along and then wrote down what I did. Assume all measurements are just approximations.
I love to travel, but my budget doesn’t love it quite as much. Therefore, much of my travel has been road trips. I’m really good at finding oddities to visit, and my idea of “nearby” can be several hours out of the way. Do we want to visit Foamhenge, a recreated Stonehenge in Virginia? Yes, I do. What about the Forbidden Gardens in Texas, the Parthenon in Nashville? Of course. The Buffalo Museum in North Dakota, take a wagon ride through the Wisconsin Dells, the home of Uncle Remus in Georgia? Check, check, check.
