This year has been pretty crazy. Since many of us will be home this year for New Year’s Eve with only our households, I thought it might be fun to have a game to play. I have created 2020 Headline Bingo with a mix of serious and absurd headlines from this year’s news. (News links have been included). Some are articles that got overshadowed (like the kidnapping and recovery of Nigerian school boys) that should have gotten more press time. Others are crazy (like the mind controlling fungus that infected the brains of a colony of cicadas). I did steer away from some of the more controversial headlines and issues of racial tensions/injustices and political polarity particularly surrounding COVID so as to reduce the possibility that playing this game would be unpleasant. I wanted this game to be a fun way to look back and reminisce on the past year not a catalyst for ruining your family time together with heated debates and fighting.
Hopefully we will see an end to this Pandemic in the coming year. I am anxious to see life return to “normal.”
Print this file (single sided) and then cut out the headline strips, fold them, mix them up, and pull them from a hat. 2-4 players. Enjoy.
